Data Governance Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Data Governance & Quality Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive data governance strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with product, engineering, and business goals
• Implement automated data quality checks and manage key data quality KPIs
• Serve as product owner for data governance tooling and partner with cross-functional teams for compliance and data stewardship

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management in a tech or SaaS environment, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience
• Strong experience working with engineering, analytics, product, and legal teams
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience using Snowflake for data processing
• Deep understanding of data governance principles and frameworks
• Familiarity with data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2)
