About the position
Responsibilities
• Create, update and maintain application, website and program-related documentation.
• Work with relevant stakeholders and technical owners to generate or revise documents.
• Update document repositories and standardize document naming conventions.
• Review, format and proofread technical procedure documents for final approval.
• Produce high-quality documentation appropriate for its intended audience.
• Document procedures, use cases, requirements, and technical designs.
• Create process flows, networking, and infrastructure diagrams.
• Create and edit documents and diagrams using Google or Microsoft applications.
• Collaborate with a team of analysts, developers, engineers, and IT security professionals.
• Resolve content issues or gaps with contributors.
• Organize material and complete writing assignments according to specified standards.
• Work with business and system subject matter experts to ensure accurate communication of policies and procedures.
• Translate technical source materials into user-friendly language without compromising accuracy.
• Continually improve and apply up-to-date technical writing skills.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, technical writing, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience with strong writing skills.
• Minimum of three years of demonstrable experience in technical writing, preferably in an IT environment.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
• Strong technical aptitude and comfortability with complex technical concepts.
Nice-to-haves
• Prior experience with IT systems, software development, or networking.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
