A well-established commercial construction contractor in Northeast Texas (Longview area) with 40+ years of industry experience is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. This opportunity offers the chance to work with a respected regional contractor handling projects ranging from small commercial work to major industrial facilities.

About Our Client

Our client is a privately-held construction firm specializing in design-build, general contracting, and construction management services. They serve diverse markets including commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, religious, and educational facilities throughout East Texas. With a strong emphasis on relationship-building and technical expertise, they maintain a lean, project-focused team structure while delivering high-quality construction services.

The Role

This is a skilled estimator position critical to the company's success, requiring a candidate with integrity, experience, and professionalism. The role will:

  • Lead bid preparation and proposals across multiple procurement methods, with a primary focus on traditional design-bid-build (hard bidding) against competing contractors
  • Handle projects ranging from $1,000 to $100,000,000
  • Spearhead pre-construction services including pricing, value engineering, site investigations, and building assessments
  • Identify and mitigate high-risk bid document/scope provisions
  • Establish project parameters for cost, schedule, and safety
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure successful project completion
  • Report directly to the company's Owner & President
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience with commercial/industrial construction projects of $5MM+
    • Candidates with experience at general contractors, subcontractors, or suppliers are welcome to apply
  • Proven track record as lead/sole estimator on successfully awarded and profitable bids
  • Experience thriving in the high-pressure environment of competitive bidding
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Superior financial, time management, communication, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional relationship-building and collaboration abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and estimating software

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm

Location: Longview, TX area (in-office position, not remote)

Valid driver's license and vehicle required
