A company is looking for a Coding Documentation Liaison.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Quality Assurance Checks and provide education on coding and documentation to providers and coding staff
- Analyze clinical documentation to verify diagnosis, procedure, and compliance opportunities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve documentation quality and resolve discrepancies
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Associate degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent coding experience
- Five years of relevant coding experience
- Certification such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS for inpatient coding; RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CCS-P, or CPC-H for outpatient coding
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft-based software and expert knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding rules
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
