Mainframe Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mainframe Software Engineer III to support a one-year project focused on maintaining and modernizing critical banking applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications on IBM mainframe systems using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other engineers to translate banking requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure accuracy and compliance with banking standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in mainframe software development, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
• Proficiency in COBOL and JCL
• Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS and TSO/ISPF
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and risk mitigation
