Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical record documentation for accurate assignment of ICD-9-CM and/or CPT codes
• Ensure quality and integrity of coding by determining principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
• Participate in educational coding meetings and assist in training of Coding Specialist-Associate when needed

Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as a coder in a hospital setting
• Completion of a pre-employment test demonstrating knowledge in inpatient/outpatient coding
• GED or HiSET required
• Certified Coding Specialist or Certified Professional Coder certification preferred
