Oceanographic GIS Analyst

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Oceanographic GIS Program Analyst to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise in cartographic or hydrographic science and GIS application related to bathymetry
• Complete bathymetric source data discovery through coordination with relevant divisions
• Edit geopackages in QGIS with research results and associated metadata

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, oceanography, GIS, cartography, hydrography, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with concepts and practices in cartography, hydrographic science, and GIS
• Expertise with Microsoft Office applications and Google collaboration tools
• Ability to self-manage workload and meet deadlines for multiple tasks
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
