Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Staff Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee various data engineering projects, bridging technical gaps and making effective decisions in complex scenarios
• Mentor and support the growth of less senior team members in the field of data engineering
• Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment and promote a positive culture while executing interdisciplinary projects

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role, focusing on data pipeline design and development
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with additional experience in Scala or Rust being a plus
• Deep knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes
• Intermediate to expert proficiency with data integration/orchestration platforms and experience with at least one cloud data warehouse
• Experience mentoring other engineers and the ability to articulate a long-term vision for technical architecture
