Remote Hospital Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Coding Specialist I (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data and apply appropriate ICD and CPT codes
• Provide charge validation and capture processes for various outpatient services
• Ensure compliance with ICD Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Coding Degree or Diploma program, or current enrollment in a program
• One year of coding and reimbursement experience in a multi-specialty clinic/hospital setting, or completion of a coding degree
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
• Advanced knowledge of hospital information systems and coding software
• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA within one year of hire
