Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Senior Underwriter responsible for underwriting mortgage loans to ensure compliance with investor standards and sound credit quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite FHA, VA, and conventional mortgage loans per product and investor guidelines
• Ensure compliance with investor requirements, federal and state laws, and resolve post-closing issues
• Perform risk assessments of credit and collateral to ensure loan saleability and sound credit quality

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent relevant work experience (2 years) plus 4-6 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Direct Endorsement (DE) or LAPP approval preferred
• Full knowledge of credit risk and understanding of appraisals
• Thorough knowledge of DU/LP valuations and applicable industry tools
• Understanding of conforming and non-conforming guidelines and risk assessment processes
