SALARY: The salary range for this position is $67,238.54 to $113,982.01 for Schedule A, and $67,238.54 to $108,282.93 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an organized, customer service-oriented individual with business analysis, report and dashboard design, and excellent communication skills, to join the Trial Court Services Data Analytics, Research and Statistics Division. To support data-driven decisions in the Judiciary’s Municipal, Criminal, Civil and Family Courts, the analyst will assess needs, prepare detailed requirements, provide requirements to developers, and test and create end-user documentation for reports and dashboards. The analyst will also coordinate with other teams to ensure data is available to support analytics.
By working in a highly collaborative environment, they will gather and analyze feedback to ensure their deliverables are continually relevant. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude, great attention to detail, and be proficient in providing business intelligence based on large sets of mission critical data. Experience with Tableau and querying data via SQL is preferred.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 3 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of Duties
• Facilitates interviews with subject matter experts and business users to elicit requirements for reports and dashboards.
• Creates detailed requirements for reports and dashboards including business rules, data mappings, visualizations, mockups, basic summary statistics and drill-down.
• Verifies availability of data in the data warehouse to support reports and dashboards, including for new systems and enhancements, and determines where expansion is needed.
• Analyzes raw system data to ensure report and dashboard requirements properly account for data issues and works with business and technical teams to improve data quality.
• Provides report and dashboard requirements to developers, ensuring they are fully understood.
• Ensures data, including reference values, are properly incorporated into reports and dashboards.
• Tests reports, dashboards, and data to ensure they meet requirements and are accurate and complete.
• Catalogs and prioritizes defects with developers for resolution.
• Empowers users by conducting training as well as creating instructional materials (e.g., manuals, on-line training tutorials) to support the generation and consumption of reports and dashboards.
• Troubleshoots issues with reports and dashboards and facilitates enhancements.
• Analyzes existing reports and dashboards for enhancement, consolidation, or replacement.
• Ensures reports and dashboards comply with data security policies and procedures, coordinates report and dashboard security access requests, and troubleshoots access issues.
The selected candidate(s) may be required to work a non-traditional work week, which may include weekends and holidays.
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, and/or cybersecurity and one (1) year of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
A Bachelor’s Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
An Associate’s Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, and/or cybersecurity and two (2) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for a the required education.
An Associate’s Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and three years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
A Master’s Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education.

Physical Ability: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching.
