Job Summary

A company is looking for a Data Collection Specialist to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and abstract data from medical records of children with birth defects for the California Birth Defects Monitoring Program
• Review electronic hospital reports and request medical records from various facilities
• Provide data for special epidemiological studies as required

Required Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge in human anatomy, biology, and medical terminology
• Experience in a health information field with relevant certifications or an AA degree in a health-related field
• Familiarity with birth defects and the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision diagnostic codes
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and web-based programs
• 3+ years of health information management-related experience
