Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder to assign accurate medical codes for Emergency Room encounters.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign accurate Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes, ICD diagnoses, CPT, and HCPCS codes from medical records
• Work collaboratively to meet team quality and productivity standards while adhering to quality assurance protocols
• Maintain professional certification and serve as a resource and subject matter expert for other coding staff

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher preferred, or equivalent work experience required
• 3+ years of Medical Coding experience, specifically in Evaluation Management (E/M) coding
• One or more relevant certifications required, such as CPC, CPC-H, CCS, or CCS-P
• Professional E/M Coding experience for both professional and facility billing is required
• Knowledge of the US healthcare industry is essential
