A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of clinical documentation through review and education
- Conduct concurrent reviews of patient health records to assess documentation quality
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance documentation practices and resolve discrepancies
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing or Health Information Technology, or an advanced nursing degree
- Preferred certifications include RN License, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, or CDIP
- Experience in Critical Care, Medical or Surgical Inpatient Care Nursing, or as an inpatient coder is preferred
- Proficiency in using standard desktop and Windows-based computer systems
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a healthcare environment
