Job Summary

A company is looking for an ED Charge Abstractor I.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews medical records to ensure clinical documentation supports billed Emergency Department charges
  • Identifies discrepancies in ED documentation with management and seasoned staff
  • Accurately abstracts records to capture charges following department standards
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year of hospital experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and E/M documentation
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Coding certification preferred
