A company is looking for an ED Charge Abstractor I.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews medical records to ensure clinical documentation supports billed Emergency Department charges
- Identifies discrepancies in ED documentation with management and seasoned staff
- Accurately abstracts records to capture charges following department standards
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 year of hospital experience required; 2 years preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and E/M documentation
- Proficient computer skills
- Coding certification preferred
