Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder who will assign accurate coding for medical diagnoses and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes for inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory encounters
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and abstract necessary information for statistical and reimbursement purposes
• Collaborate with revenue cycle team members to facilitate appropriate billing and reimbursement

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a college-level course in medical terminology
• Must obtain RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or CPC certification within 1 year of employment
• Basic knowledge of ICD-CM/PCS and CPT coding guidelines
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, and hospital procedures
