Washington State Licensed Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Professional Coding Education Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the education of billing providers on professional coding and related processes
• Develop educational materials and communicate updates to clinical leaders and providers
• Serve as a subject matter expert and lead professional coding improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Minimum of five years of experience in professional coding in an acute care hospital or clinic setting
• Proficient knowledge of federal regulations related to coding and documentation compliance
• Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
• Experience with Epic and in teaching adult learners preferred
