Job Summary

A company is looking for a Risk Team Underwriter to join their team remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a consultant to evaluate referrals and provide recommendations to mitigate fraud risk
• Conduct background checks, review medical records, and perform post-issue analysis related to underwriting
• Review contestable claims and collaborate with the Claims department to identify material misrepresentation

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Minimum of 5 years of medical underwriting experience in Life/Health insurance
• Strong aptitude in mathematics and proficiency with various software tools, including Microsoft applications
• Ability to make sound, logical decisions and justify them effectively
• College degree preferred or equivalent work experience in the insurance industry
• History of providing team leadership and mentorship is preferred
