The Security Guard is responsible for providing initial contact with patients and maintaining a visible presence to deter illegal, unauthorized, or dangerous activity in the clinics and clinic grounds.
The Security Guard performs responsible security work in a variety of activities including foot patrol, crime prevention, community relations, and non-criminal security services. The incumbent works in partnership with other employees, departments, agencies, and the public in delivering effective and innovative services.

Supervision Received:
- Works under the direct supervision of the Security Manager in cooperation with the Center Directors and Leadership staff
Specific Duties:
- Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Dental Providers, Behavioral Health Providers, Medical Assistants, Enrollment Specialists, Customer Service Associates, and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated healthcare
- Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud
- Follows procedures for the electronic health records system
- May perform special project assignment duties in foot patrol, crime prevention, or community affairs as assigned
- Responds to requests for assistance from the public, fellow officers, fire department, ambulance services, and police agencies
- Renders first-aid assistance as necessary
- Responds to calls of a non-criminal nature such as verbal disturbances, abandoned vehicles, and parking complaints
- Gets acquainted with patients in the assigned facility
- Identifies problems; attends meetings; teaches classes, and improves community relations
- Communicates verbally and effectively by listening to people and by giving information, directions, and commands
- Solves problems, exercise independent judgment and determines when there is a reasonable need to notify law enforcement
- Conducts visual and audio surveillance
- Conducts patrols of buildings, structures, and large outdoor areas which may involve walking, running, and/or standing for long periods of time
- Works in changing environmental conditions such as fog, smoke, rain, ice, and snow to assist patients, staff, medical personnel, and emergency services
- Uses body force to gain entrance through barriers to search and/or rescue
- Operates a personal computer including associated software programs
- Operates a motor vehicle in traveling to and from work sites
- Assures facilities and equipment are maintained properly and coordinates maintenance and repair functions
- Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents
Administrative Duties:
- Gathers information by interviewing and obtaining statements Manage interpersonal conflicts to maintain order
- Reads and comprehends rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Writes clear, factual, incident reports to include after-action reports if required
- Maintains Daily Activity Reports
- Maintains visitor logs, and other written correspondence as required
