Key Responsibilities

• Identify and correct grammatical, typographical, and compositional errors in legislative drafts
• Ensure all documents adhere to the Code of Virginia's style and established guidelines
• Monitor the consistency of content across documents

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• A degree in English, Linguistics, Journalism, Writing, Communications, Arts, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, including freelance work
• Strong understanding of the difference between editing and rewriting
• Ability to learn the specifics of legislative editing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
