Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to evolve core systems and improve data collaboration capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Evolve core systems and rearchitect to support running the query engine on customer infrastructure
• Enhance the job system for efficient scheduling, resource utilization, and error handling
• Develop additional connectors and improve the Connector Framework for seamless data integration

Required Qualifications

• Experience in a typed functional language (e.g., Scala, F#, Haskell) or significant experience in non-functional equivalents (e.g., Java, C#)
• Experience with large data sets; prior experience with Spark or distributed query engines is ideal
• Experience in cloud environments like AWS or GCP, with knowledge of deploying large data processing systems
• Ability to work in a flat organization and lead architectural and design documentation
• Ideally located within +/- 3 hours of Eastern Standard Time (EST) with availability for overlap with standard working hours
