Staff Software Engineer - Backend

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Software Engineer - Backend/AI (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for backend development of AI-enabled mental health care projects
• Design and scale services using TypeScript and Node.js, guiding complex technical initiatives
• Mentor senior engineers and create frameworks to enhance organizational impact

Required Qualifications

• 8-10 years of backend software engineering experience, including production systems at scale
• Experience with at least one backend language for mobile backends (e.g., Python, Node.js, Ruby)
• Proven experience designing and implementing APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)
• Hands-on experience integrating and deploying large language models
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals
