Wachter is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator to join our IT team in Lenexa, KS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and optimization, with a focus on Microsoft technologies. This role involves ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of databases, troubleshooting any issues, and providing efficient solutions. The Database Administrator role schedule is 4 days working in the office at the Legler building and 1 work-from-home day.

Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related Microsoft technologies.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
- Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
- Knowledge of database design and scripting using SQL.
- Familiarity with database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
- Familiarity and experience with Azure SQL a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be detail-oriented and logical.
Key Responsiblities:- Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.
- Perform database administration tasks, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and space management using Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies.
- Implement and oversee database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.
- Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers.
- Work closely with IT managers, DBAs and software developers.
- Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
- Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Ensure that storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
