Bioinformatics Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Bioinformatics Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for processing genomic and 'omics data
• Contribute to the development and management of computational workflows (e.g., WDL/Cromwell, Nextflow, or Snakemake)
• Support pipeline deployment and management on cloud computing platforms, primarily Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Genetics, or a related quantitative discipline with 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, and Bash scripting
• Experience working with or building data pipelines, preferably with tools like Nextflow, Snakemake, or WDL/Cromwell
• Foundational understanding of genomics, next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, and other omics data types
