Position Description: The Business Analyst supports an Information Technology (IT) project team by providing recommended outcomes through critical analysis and thinking.
Minimum/General Experience: 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

• Above average experience supporting Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA)
• Above average knowledge of software development lifecycle best practices
• Above average ability to translate requirements into user stories
• Above average ability to analyze, model and interpret data using different tools and techniques
• Experience using Jira
• Strong listening ability to turn client business requirements into communities of practice

General Physical Requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on the location of the assignment.
• Assignment Location – Remote
• Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Typing, communicating, repetitive motions.
• Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
• Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 years
Federal Civilian Public Trust Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:
• Covers 10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
• OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
• DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
• National Agency Check (NAC) records
• FBI name check
• FBI fingerprint check

• Potential interviews with the subject, spouse, neighbors, supervisor, coworkers

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:
• Works with stakeholders to define requirements
• Analyzes, identifies, and documents requirements based on information gathering sessions and desired DevOps architecture (e.g., artifacts, processes, requirements, solution, User Guides)
• Develops methodical and logical approaches for discovery and implementation of requirements
• Supports writing User Stories in Jira
• Ensures all analysis, systems operations and maintenance activities are properly documented and updated as necessary
• Utilizes data to understand businesspatterns and trends
• Contributes and participates in all phases of the development life cycle
• Collaborates with developers, system analysts, and users to resolve system issues
• Understands and interprets technical documentation and translates functionality to varying audiences
• Uses strong communication, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Learns new technologies and additional skills quickly
• Updates and manages work assignments in the appropriate repository of record
Compensation & Benefits: The projected hourly rate for this position is $44.60 – $49.55 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.
