California Ocean Recovery Scientist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Ocean Recovery Scientist to provide technical and scientific support for conservation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and manage data for endangered and threatened species, prioritizing areas for conservation
• Conduct scientific surveys and research, record data, and develop proposals for conservation programs
• Lead cross-functional teams and support conservation goals through collaboration with various stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in an ocean science-related field and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience
• Experience in marine ecological research, project implementation, and fieldwork
• Proven ability to design and lead ecological field studies and manage scientific research programs
• SCUBA certification with documented experience in scientific or fieldwork-related activities
• Experience building collaborations with various partners, including government agencies and NGOs
