Carbon Markets Specialist - AFOLU

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Carbon Markets Technical Specialist - Agriculture, Forestry, Land-Use (AFOLU).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advisory on carbon markets readiness and facilitate the development of relevant tools and knowledge products
• Offer technical assistance for the implementation of carbon markets, including project design and support for achieving climate targets
• Facilitate capacity building and knowledge sharing through workshops and training sessions for stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Sustainable Agriculture, Forestry, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resources Management, or related field; or a bachelor's degree with additional qualifying experience
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience (9 years with a bachelor's degree) in carbon markets and AFOLU methodologies
• Proven ability to manage the preparation of carbon projects in the AFOLU sector
• Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Portuguese or French is highly desirable
• Experience in developing financing strategies and internal policies for government agencies on carbon markets is an advantage
