Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder Outpatient.

Key Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes
• Apply coding indicators such as MS-DRG, APR-DRG, POA, SOI, ROM, HAC, and PSI
• Ensure coding accuracy and collaborate with the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) team

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)
• 1-2 years of inpatient coding experience (3-5 years preferred)
• AHIMA credentials such as CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT required
