Collateral Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Collateral Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze residential and investment property appraisals for compliance with relevant standards
• Evaluate collateral for various Non-QM products and identify valuation risks in appraisal reports
• Provide mentorship and participate in team meetings and training initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting with a focus on appraisal/collateral review
• Proficient knowledge of USPAP, FNMA/FHLMC guidelines, and Non-QM lending practices
• Experience evaluating diverse property types, including rural and complex appraisals
• Familiarity with LOS and appraisal platforms
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
