Digital Accessibility Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Digital Accessibility Specialist to support the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current and future states of talking book and braille delivery technology
• Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI tools and text-to-speech functionality
• Research integration possibilities with existing NLS products and assess patron acceptance of new technologies

Required Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of accessibility technology
• Expert-level knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act/Section 508a of the Rehabilitation Act (ADA/508)
• Expert-level knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• Current knowledge of related accessibility technologies
• Minimum three (3) years of applied experience with collaborative/co-design approaches prioritizing the preferences of people with disabilities
