FHA VA Government Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Underwriter (West Coast).

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite government loans including FHA and VA loans, as well as other types such as Bond and USDA
• Communicate regularly with Loan Officers and Processors regarding loan status
• Assist with training needs of other mortgage positions and maintain current knowledge of products

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years recent government underwriting experience
• Must possess valid LAPP/SAR for VA Loans and FHA (DE)
• Experience as a frontline underwriter in the last 12 to 18 months
• Demonstrated knowledge of DU and LP input
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
