Informatics Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Informatics Specialist/Bioinformatician to provide expertise in medical and public health informatics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply advanced informatics methods to support public health research and operations
• Design and optimize computational workflows for bioinformatics and clinical informatics projects
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and federal privacy policies in data handling and dissemination

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Informatics, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in informatics, particularly in public health or bioinformatics
• Proficiency in applying statistical and computational methods to large datasets
• Strong knowledge of health data interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X12)
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and federal data privacy requirements
