Job Description

This role will be based in New York City.

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

The Brand & Content Strategy team sits within LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions organization, and partners with the world’s top advertisers and agencies to deliver an array of offerings across content, strategy, and creative solutions and integrations. The team serves as a center of brand campaign expertise across the LinkedIn platform, in support of LinkedIn’s ad sales team, and in service of LinkedIn’s brand advertisers.

The Director of Brand Strategy brings B2B marketing experience to a player-coach role – simultaneously driving the strategic approach for the sales team’s highest-profile advertiser/customer engagements, while leading and mentoring a pod of individual Strategists on their day to day efforts to service LinkedIn advertisers – delivering best-in-class campaign activations across brand and launch initiatives.

The Director for Brand Strategy also manages and coaches a pod of Brand Strategist and Creatives/Designers who are responsible for visual storytelling and bringing to life campaign strategies and activation concepts by way of high-touch, customized presentation design – fostering a collaborative dynamic between Strategy and Design functions on projects and pitches.

The Director of Brand Strategy is a senior-level marketer who has held multiple positions across the platform, advertiser, and agency sectors of the industry with specific experience at a B2B business – as well as a portfolio of work that has consistently met marketing objectives and delivered campaign performance and business/revenue impact. This role must be steeped in top-of-funnel marketing expertise, and while both B2B and B2C experience and knowledge is important for this position, a deep firsthand concentration in the B2B space is critical, as is institutional knowledge and experience in digital, social, and video mediums – and experience supporting large-scale media sales and account teams.

  Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Leadership: Leading a cross-functional team of Brand Strategists and Creatives/Designers to deliver campaign strategies and creative recommendations to advertising customers, helping LinkedIn’s sales team generate successful short-term campaign activations, as well as forge long-term relationship growth with key accounts. Serve as the primary internal and external face of Brand Strategy, collaborating daily with sales leadership to align on business priorities.

  • Creative Management: Guide Creatives/Designers to bring campaign solutions and advertiser presentations to life through custom visuals and the development of bespoke narratives and collateral.

  • Coaching and Development: Coach Brand Strategists and Designers on ideation, storytelling (written, visual, verbal), and effective collaboration with sales, cross-functional teams, advertisers, and agencies.

  • Operational Excellence: Build and manage systems to allocate Brand Strategy & Design resources across accounts, verticals, and channels. Communicate proactively with sales leadership to align on priorities and direction, and establish systems to deliver strategy and creative support to LinkedIn’s advertising sales teams.

  • Narrative Development: Craft and present insights-driven strategies and activation ideas tailored to client objectives—from daily media planners to CMOs—with the ability to energize rooms, shift perceptions, and unlock new investments.

  • Campaign Strategy: Develop creative, measurable, and audience-tailored campaign strategies that meet client needs and platform best practices.

  • Brainstorm Facilitation: Lead brainstorms and workshops, flexing style based on audience—whether collaborating creatively with agency teams or presenting measurable strategies to brand marketers.

  • LinkedIn Platform Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on LinkedIn’s brand solutions, inspiring advertisers and agencies with its differentiated capabilities for major initiatives and launches.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with content, insights, creative, marketing, product, comms, and finance teams to develop, test, and launch impactful brand campaigns and initiatives.

  • Team Culture: Foster a collaborative, creative, and inclusive environment by inspiring, listening to, and shaping the direction of the team’s work.
