Mortgage Underwriting Manager

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Underwriting Manager responsible for leading the underwriting team within the Mortgage Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor mortgage underwriters and support staff, providing training and performance management
• Ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions on various mortgage products
• Maintain consistent application of underwriting guidelines and collaborate with compliance teams

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years in mortgage underwriting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Direct experience underwriting multiple loan types (conventional, FHA, VA, USDA)
• DE and SAR designations preferred
• In-depth knowledge of lending guidelines and credit risk assessment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
