Network Planning Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Network Planning Engineer responsible for creating optical transport capacity solutions to support managed wavelength services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop capital budget requests and manage ongoing network infrastructure project budgets
• Design and engineer hardware solutions for network capacity and produce engineering design packages
• Track and report on network capacity utilization and assist service delivery teams in locating available capacity

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or Computer Science
• Minimum of five years of telecommunications and/or network planning experience preferred
• Knowledge of optical fiber specifications and DWDM network architectures
• Experience with at least two optical transport platforms
• MS Office application capabilities required; programming/scripting skills preferred
