Outpatient Surgery Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Surgery Observation Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and assign codes for outpatient medical record documentation
• Ensure correct coding for ICD-10-CM and/or CPT-4 HCPCS codes
• Focus primarily on outpatient surgery, wound care, and observation coding

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Coding experience is required
• One or more certifications required (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H)
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) preferred
• Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization and remote coding experience is a plus
