Job Summary

This position will assist in coordinating the clerical aspects of the Behavioral Health (BH) department. The role encompasses a wide range of administrative tasks aimed at ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the BH department. Strong organizational skills, attention to details, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Execute all functions of scheduling with BH patients.
  • Provide bi-monthly online verification of patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Complete daily reminder phone calls for all appointments including “no-show” patients.
  • Provide general overview of BH services to patients, providers, and outside entities, such as insurance providers.
  • Complete and submit bi-annual Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County (CCALAC) data submission reports.
  • Assist BH staff with ECW template needs including blocking time for staff out, paid time off, meetings, training, and supervision.
  • Work with the BH Call Center and chat to triage any questions that may arise.
  • Assist clinical staff with obtaining signed patient legal documents that may be pertinent to their case.
  • Assist clinical staff by sending patient documents related to their case status.
  • Assist staff with sending patient requested documentation such as report summaries.
  • Weekly monitoring of in-house referral list.
  • Provide outside referrals when patients do not meet criteria for in-house services.
  • Complete screening tools utilizing a variety of software.
  • Review and provide information on BH attendance policy.
  • Provide emergency and/or community resource information requested by patients.
  • Schedule appointments with behavioral health providers for initial evaluation.

RequirementsEducation/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • College degree in healthcare related preferred.
  • One year of related experience in a healthcare/substance use abuse environment preferred.
  • Experience working with underserved communities such as undocumented workers, unaccompanied minors, LGBTQ+ populations, communities of color, youth/adolescents, and those experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, and/or mental illness.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Salary Description$20 – $22
