Book Production Editor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Book Production Editor, Graphic Novels/Manga.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee production editorial work for original titles from manuscript to bound book/ePub, including hardcover-to-paperback conversions across various genres
• Hire freelance copy editors, proofreaders, and indexers, reviewing their work throughout the editorial process
• Perform quality checks on ebook files and collaborate with production and design departments to maintain book schedules

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years' experience as a trade-book production editor
• Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style and proficiency in electronic copyediting using Microsoft Word
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat PDF markup tools
• Ability to manage diverse responsibilities and meet deadlines effectively
• Preferably experience working on 4-color books
