Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder - Professional (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and assign ICD diagnosis codes, CPT codes, and other charges based on clinical documentation
• Understand and apply medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes
• May be trained on reviewing documentation for Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC)

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of ICD, CPT, HCPCS courses, or coding certification within one year of hire
• Associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding, Health Information Management, or related field preferred
• Experience in the medical field, medical records, or CPT and HCPCS coding
• Coding certification from recognized organizations required within three years of hire
• Certification at the time of hire preferred
