Commercial Underwriter I

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Commercial Underwriter I.

Key Responsibilities

• Completes underwriting training and shadows experienced underwriters to learn risk appetite and develop agency relationships
• Evaluates basic accounts for risk selection and pricing, analyzes relevant information to underwrite policies, and maintains proper file documentation
• Communicates with agents, provides updates on accounts, and collaborates with marketing representatives to enhance customer experiences

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration, or equivalent relevant experience
• Preferred insurance designations, such as CPCU
• Basic knowledge of underwriting and risk analysis preferred
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
