Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriter to analyze health benefit plans and assess risks remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Focus on a Local Market book of business and develop competitive financial responses for new and in-force business
• Review claim experience and apply underwriting guidelines to prepare prospective and/or renewal rates
• Provide technical expertise to Local Market Sales and Account Management staff on proposals

Required Qualifications:

• Associate Degree or higher in Math, Finance, Business, or relevant work experience
• 1+ years of experience applying finance or mathematics principles in an academic or professional setting
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proven analytical and quantitative reasoning skills demonstrated through relevant coursework
