NY and NJ Licensed Government Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Underwriter (Northeast).

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite FHA and VA loans and various other loan types including CHFA / SONYMA, Renovation, and Construction
• Communicate regularly with Loan Officers and Processors regarding loan statuses and maintain a conversation log
• Assist with training needs of other mortgage positions and perform ad hoc reporting

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of specific government underwriting experience
• Must possess valid DE and active LAPP/SAR designations for FHA and VA loans
• Experience with CHFA / SONYMA, Bond, USDA, Renovation, and Construction loans is highly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of DU and LP input and the ability to interpret and document findings
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
