Inpatient Coder II

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder II.

Key Responsibilities

• Review health record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures for inpatient billing
• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and apply relevant indicators and calculations for billing compliance
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists and maintain productivity metrics while staying updated on coding guidelines

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of coursework in Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy and Physiology
• ICD-10 and CPT coding training with documentation required at interview
• Demonstrated coding competency with a minimum of 95% accuracy
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or other AHIMA/AAPC coding credentials
