Network Operations Technician

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Global Network Operations Tier III Technician - IP/Ethernet.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical escalations and support NCC technicians, engaging vendors and high-level customer contacts as necessary
• Support and cross-train IP ETH NCC technicians, compiling training documentation and delivering training courses
• Create and update network documentation and drawings, assisting with additional duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year university or technical school with a minimum of four (4) years related experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing Ethernet & IP networks delivered over fiber
• Intimate knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 carrier networks and networking protocols including STP, VLANs, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF
• Effective layer 1 troubleshooting skills specific to fiber links, including conducting OTDR testing
• Professional certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Ciena, Arbor, Accedian) are preferred
