Job Summary
A company is looking for a Supervising Attorney for its Free to Be Youth & Sex Workers Projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise staff attorneys, legal volunteers, and interns while managing their professional development
- Manage a caseload of clients seeking various forms of immigration relief and represent them in legal proceedings
- Stay updated on immigration policy changes and provide training and outreach to communities and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience handling immigration cases focused on humanitarian applications
- Admitted to practice law in New York State (preferred)
- Experience supervising legal staff and a commitment to trauma-informed lawyering
- Ability to analyze immigration consequences of criminal convictions and provide legal recommendations
- Knowledge of dynamics related to domestic violence, LGBTQ+ issues, and human trafficking
