New York Licensed Supervising Attorney

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Supervising Attorney for its Free to Be Youth & Sex Workers Projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise staff attorneys, legal volunteers, and interns while managing their professional development
• Manage a caseload of clients seeking various forms of immigration relief and represent them in legal proceedings
• Stay updated on immigration policy changes and provide training and outreach to communities and stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience handling immigration cases focused on humanitarian applications
• Admitted to practice law in New York State (preferred)
• Experience supervising legal staff and a commitment to trauma-informed lawyering
• Ability to analyze immigration consequences of criminal convictions and provide legal recommendations
• Knowledge of dynamics related to domestic violence, LGBTQ+ issues, and human trafficking
