About the position

The Key Accounts Professional Services Veterinarian is responsible for addressing the technical needs of strategic and key account customers, collaborating closely with sales and marketing teams. This role involves networking with veterinary key account customers, providing education on disease states, and delivering product training to enhance brand awareness. The position also supports the veterinary sales team through training and technical support, requiring travel for customer visits and events, particularly in the Western and Southwestern regions of the U.S.

Responsibilities
• Network and build relationships within the leadership structure of target corporate, specialty, e-commerce, and veterinary distributor customers.

• Create and deliver value-add content to enhance brand awareness and affinity among stakeholders.
,
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to achieve role priorities.
,
• Conduct technically-focused field visits among target customers independently and with veterinary clinic specialists.
,
• Represent Blue Buffalo and General Mills at regional and national conferences through booth discussions, KOL engagement, and content delivery.
,
• Execute the College of Veterinary Medicine strategy, including recruiting and maintaining student ambassadors and exploring partnerships with faculty and development teams.
,
• Champion an animal health and veterinary perspective throughout the General Mills organization.

Requirements
• DVM, VMD, or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical companion animal veterinary general or specialty practice.

• Experience in academia (Adjunct, Associate or Tenured Professor), veterinary distribution companies, pet e-commerce, or pet nutrition/food.
,
• Strong medical background and proficient knowledge of companion animal nutrition.
,
• Familiarity with the animal health industry landscape, including market dynamics and important players.
,
• Excellent relationship building, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
,
• Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
,
• Competency in Microsoft software.
,
• Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally to build strong networks and advance business priorities.
,
• Highly motivated, results-driven mindset.
,
• Skillful in translating business requirements to actionable solutions.
