Senior Billing Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sr Billing Specialist responsible for first-time billing of claims to third-party payors in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain billing workqueues and generate claim edits requiring intervention for clean claims
• Correct claims returned due to payor rejections and denials in the billing system
• Train billing specialists on handling billing edits, claim errors, and denials

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in insurance billing within a hospital environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• General knowledge of medical terminology, ICD9-CM, ICD10-CM, and CPT procedure codes
• Ability to train others on billing processes and claim resolution
