Job Summary
A company is looking for a Senior Public Benefit Specialist to assist uninsured and under-insured patients in determining eligibility for state Medicaid benefits or financial assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and coordinate the application process for uninsured/under-insured patients to determine program eligibility
- Communicate effectively with patients to obtain necessary documentation for applications
- Follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing and update insurance information as needed
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with hospital financial issues
- Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admission, billing, and payments
- Knowledge of patient insurance processes for authorizations and benefits verification
- High School Diploma or GED; combination of post-secondary education and experience may be considered
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (company paid)
