Job Summary
A company is looking for a Counsel to join their Legal team, supporting the Payroll & Team Management business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and advise cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle, focusing on payroll and employee-related products
- Provide practical legal advice on product, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and various contracts
- Stay current on laws and regulations affecting the Payroll & Team Management platform and ensure compliance in marketing content
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school; active state bar membership
- 5-10 years of legal experience, preferably in-house with a payroll or HR service provider
- Deep expertise in product, regulatory compliance, privacy, marketing, and consumer protection laws
- Proven experience advising product teams and managing complex customer contract negotiations
- Knowledge of multi-state employment laws, particularly in payroll and wage regulations
