A company is looking for a Sr. Underwriter - Major Accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and clarify group health application information from various stakeholders
- Perform risk appraisals and evaluate group risk for health insurance prospects and renewals
- Calculate and negotiate rates and premium charges for group health insurance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in Stop Loss Underwriting, Financial Underwriting, Actuarial, or Financial Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of contracts, products, networks, underwriting, billing, claims processing, and broker distribution systems
- Experience in managing an assigned book of Major Accounts and pitching products
